Features

Shapechanger. The slaad can use its action to polymorph into a Small or Medium humanoid, any size slaadi, or back into its true form. Its statistics, other than its size, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Faultless Tracker. The slaad knows the direction and distance of any death slaadi as long as the two of them are on the same plane of existance. Once it has chosen a target death slaad, and that target travels to a different plane, the pale slaad knows to which plane the death slaad has fled.

Innate Spellcasting. The slaad's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). The slaad can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: detect magic, detect thoughts, invisibility (self only), mage hand, major image

2/day each: fear, fireball, fly, tongues

1/day: cloudkill, plane shift (self only)

Magic Resistance. The slaad has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Magic Weapons. The slaad's weapon attacks are magical.

Nondetection. The slaad cannot be perceived by any form of divination magic.

Regeneration. The slaad regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point.

Actions

Multiattack. The slaad makes four attacks: only one of which may be a bite.

Bite (Slaad Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8+3) piercing damage plus 7 (2d8) radiant damage.

Claw (Slaad Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8+4) slashing damage plus 7 (2d8) radiant damage.

Twin Scimitars. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6+4) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) radiant damage. On a hit with the scimitars the pale slaad may, use a bonus action to make an additional attack against the same target with the scimitars.

Call to the Cause (3/Day). The pale slaad can make a telepathic call all slaadi within 120 feet of it its cause. All slaadi within range must succeed on a DC 20 wisdom saving throw or rally to the pale slaad's cause for 1 day. This call ignores the slaadi magic resistance, but Death Slaadi are immune to this call.

When a green slaad eats a death slaad corpse, it usually transforms into a death slaad. However, about 1 time out of 30, it will transform into a pale slaad instead.

The pale slaad has one purpose — to hunt down and kill death slaadi. The pale slaadi often calls all slaadi it encounters to assist it in its task. The slaadi is ruthless in this not counting any creature's value except in furthering its cause.
