An Artillerist specializes in projecting magic through a magic canon or firearm on the battlefield.

Tool Proficiency

3rd level Artillerist feature.
Unofficial Summary: Gain Proficiency with Woodcarver's Tools (or other Artisan's Tools if already proficient). Your time for crafting Wands is halved

Artillerist Spells

3rd level Artillerist feature.
Unofficial Summary: You know and always have prepared the following spells, which count as Artificer Spells for you:
Shield, Thunderwave, Scorching Ray, Shatter, Fireball, Wind Wall, Ice Storm, Wall of Fire, Cone of Cold, Wall of Force 

Eldritch Cannon

3rd level Artillerist feature.
Unofficial Summary: Once per Long Rest, you can use Woodcarver’s Tools or Smith's Tools, and a Magic Action to create a Small or Tiny Eldritch Cannon. You can give it legs or wheels to move on. You can use a Spell Slot to recharge this ability.

Eldritch Cannon

Small or Tiny Object

Armor Class: 18
Hit Points: Calculated
Immunities: Poison, Psychic

Activate Cannon (Requires You to be within 60 feet of the Cannon) Use a Bonus Action, to use the Flamethrower, Force Ballista, or Protector option of the cannon and move it before or after.

Flamethrower. The cannon spouts a Cone that causes Fire damage (Dexterity Save to halve damage) and set objects on fire.
Force Ballista. Ranged Spell Attack: On a hit the creature takes Force damage and is Pushed.
Protector. Creatures of your choice near the cannon are granted Temporary Hit Points.
 

Arcane Firearm

5th level Artillerist feature.
Unofficial Summary: At the end of a Long Rest, using Woodcarver's Tools, you can modify a Rod, Staff, or Wand to make it an arcane firearm. The arcane firearm is a Spellcasting Focus for your Artificer spells and spells cast with it do bonus damage. 

Explosive Cannon

9th level Artillerist feature.
Unofficial Summary: Your Eldritch Cannon gains the following benefits:

Detonate. If your cannon is reduced to 0 Hit Points, you can use a Reaction to have it detonate causing Force damage to creatures in a radius (Dexterity Save for half damage).
Firepower. The cannon’s damage increases.
 

Fortified Position

15th level Artillerist feature.
Unofficial Summary: Eldritch Cannon gains the following benefits:

Double Firepower. You can create two cannons with the same Magic action (but separate spell slots), and activate both with the same Bonus Action.
Shimmering Field Projection. The cannon provides Half Cover to you and allies nearby.

Design Note: Artillerist Updates Here are the main updates in this subclass since its appearance in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything:

  • Tool Proficiency now allows the Artificer to craft magic Wands faster
  • Eldritch Canon now allows each cannon to use the Flamethrower, Force Ballista, and Protector options
  • Explosive Cannon now detonates as a Reaction instead of an action, and its damage has been increased
