Here are the main updates from its appearance in Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft:

  • Guiding Whispers and Spiritual Focus are combined into Channeler.
  • Spirits from Beyond (formerly Tales from Beyond) has been reworked.
  • Empowered Channeling is a new feature.

3rd level College of Spirits feature.
Summary: Gain the following benefits:

3rd level College of Spirits feature.
Summary: Use a Bonus Action and Spellcasting Focus, choosing a creature as the spirit's target (save to avoid) While holding a Spellcasting Focus, you can take a Bonus Action to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and call forth the powers of a spirit. Roll the Bardic Inspiration die and refer to the Spirits from Beyond table to determine the spirit you channel, then choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of yourself as the spirit’s target. The spirit immediately takes effect; if a spirit’s effect requires a saving throw, the DC equals your Bard spell save DC.

1 Beloved. Summary: Regains Hit Points.
2 Sharpshooter. Summary: Cause Force damage.
3 Avenger. Summary: Cause Force damage to those that hist you with a melee attack roll.
4 Renegade. Summary: Use Reaction to teleport.
5 Fortune Teller. Summary: Gain advantage on D20 Tests.
6 Wayfarer. Summary: Gain Temporary Hit Points and boost Speed.
7 Trickster. Summary: Cause Psychic damage and Charm target (Wisdom save to reduce damage and avoid being Charmed).
8 Shade. Summary: Gains Invisibility and target causes Necrotic damage in Emanation.
9 Arsonist. Summary: Cause Fire damage (Dexterity save for reduced damage.
10 Coward. Summary: Creatures in Emanation become Frightened (Wisdom save to avoid). While Frightened, Speed is slowed, and target cannot take both Action and Bonus Action (must choose).
11 Brute. Summary: Creatures in Emanation take Thunder damage and become Prone (Strength save for reduced damage and not become Prone).
12 Controlled Channeling. Summary: Choose effect from above.
 

Empowered Channeling

6th level College of Spirits feature.
Summary: Gain the following benefits:

Once per Short and Long Rest, casting this also causes an Emanation that provide Half Cover

Mystical Connection

14th level College of Spirits feature.
Summary: Spirits from Beyond allows you to roll twice and choose which result to use.
