Amethyst Dragon Overview [1]

Amethyst dragons were neutral, logical dragons. They had lavender skin and crystal-like scales. Their breath weapon was a blast of concussive force, and they were known to burrow into the ground. They were also the most powerful of the gem dragons. [2]

Amethyst Dragons are described in Fizban's Treasury of Dragons

Amethyst Dragon's Lair

Amethyst dragons lair in caves near water.

The cr of a legendary amethyst dragon in its lair is +1CR.

Lair Actions

When fighting inside its lair, an amethyst dragon can use lair actions. On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the dragon takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the dragon can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • Beguiling Whisper.
  • Imprisoning Force.
  • Spatial Projection.

Regional Effects

  • Background Check.
  • Crystal Profusion.
  • Watery Sight.

If the dragon dies, these effects fade over 1d10 days. [3]
