Emerald Dragon Overview [1] [2]

 Forgotten Realms Wiki
Emerald dragons were reclusive dragons with a lawful bent. They are inquisitive about history, but also paranoid and distrustful of visitors, whom they deter by setting traps in and by their lairs, and with their breath weapon, a powerful blast of wind. They had scales in many shades of green, with a scintillating appearance that makes the dragon seem to be in constant motion.

Emerald Dragons are described in Fizban's Treasury of Dragons.

Emerald Dragon's Lair

[4] Emerald dragons dwell in … caverns, lava tubes, and tunnel[s]…

The challenge rating of a legendary emerald dragon increases by 1 when it's encountered in its lair.

Lair Actions

[4] When fighting inside its lair, an emerald dragon can use lair actions. On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the dragon takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the dragon can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • Beguiling Whisper.
  • Distort Perceptions.
  • Vanish.

Regional Effects

[4] The region surrounding a legendary amethyst dragon's lair is altered by the dragon's magic, creating one or more of the following effects:

  • Crystal Profusion.
  • Fiery Sight.
  • Subtle Obstruction.
  • Thriving Wildlife.

If the dragon dies, the population of giant lizards [and] crystals and emeralds [return to normal].
