The githyanki (pronounced: /gɪθˈjænki/ gith-YÆN-kee[2] or: /gɪθˈjɑːŋki/ gith-YANG-kee[3], meaning "followers of Gith"[4] or "children of Gith"[5] in the Gith language) were a race of Astral Plane-dwellers.[6] Survivors of a long enslavement by mind flayers, they became ruthless pillagers and raiders of many worlds in the Prime Material Plane.[4]

Description

Like all Gith, Githyanki were tall and slender humanoids with rough, leathery yellow skin and bright black eyes[7][8] that were sunken deep in their orbits. They had long and angular skulls, with small and highly placed flat noses, and ears that were pointed and serrated in the back side. They typically grew either red or black hair, which they styled in topknots.[9][8] Their teeth were pointed.[10]
