Beholder's Lair

A beholder's lair is usually a cavern. A beholder in its lair is CR 14 (11,500 XP).

Lair Actions

When fighting inside its lair, an beholder can use lair actions. On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the aberration takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the aberration can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • Slimy Area
  • Walls Sprout Tentacles
  • Magic Eye

Regional Effects

A region containing a beholder's lair is warped by the creature's'unnatural presence, which creates one or more of the following effects:

  • Feeling of Being Watched
  • Minor Reality Warp

If the beholder dies, these effects fade over the course of 1d10 days.
