Unofficial Description: A background indicates what a character was doing before they became an adventurer.

  

Publication UA 2022 Character Origins provides three options for selecting a background:

• Craft a background (see Build Your Background).
• Choose a Sample Background.
• Customize a Sample Background with the rules in Build a Background.

Build Your Background

  

You construct a back-story for your character. This back-story proivdes the following features:

Background Features

Ability Scores.

Skill Proficiencies. (see Skills)

Tool Proficiency. (see Tools)

Language. (see Standard Languages and Rare Languages)

Feat. (1st level feat)

Equipment.
