Design Note: Circle of the Moon Updates
[1] Here are the main updates in this subclass since its last playtest version, aimed at improving its play and its connection to the lunar theme:
- Circle Spells is a new feature that provides spells that you always have prepared and can cast in Wild Shape form.
- Circle Forms (formerly Combat Wild Shape) has been streamlined to determine your AC and the number of Temporary Hit Points gained.
- Improved Circle Forms lets you add your Wisdom modifier to your Constitution saving throws while in a Wild Shape form.
- Lunar Form now also lets each of your Wild Shape attacks deal extra Radiant damage.
Circle of the Moon [1] subclass
Circle of the Moon is a subclass of the Druid class.
This druid subclass draws on the power of the moon. This grants enhancement to Wild Shape and bestows other abilities.

Subclass Features
Circle Spells
3rd, 5th , 7th, 9th Feature
Summary: At these Druid levels, you gain access to certain spells that you always have prepared. (Cure Wounds, Moonbeam, Starry Wisp, Vampiric Touch, Fount of Moonlight, Dawn)
Circle Forms
3rd, 6th Feature
Summary: Your Wild Shape has the following benefits:
- Challenge Rating. Your Beast forms may be of a higher CR (⅓ Druid level).
- Armor Class. Your AC in beast form is calculated (base + Wis mod).
- Temporary Hit Points. You gain Temporary Hit Points [2] when you assume Beast Form.
At 6th level your Beast form gains the following additional benefits:
- Lunar Radiance. Beast form attack can do Radiant damage.
- Increased Toughness. Beast form Constitution saves are buffed.
Moonlight Step
10th Feature
Summary: A limited number of times a day you can use a Bonus Action to teleport. This boosts your next attack roll on that turn. You can spend a 2nd+ level spell slot to gain an additional use of this.
Lunar Form
14th Feature
Summary: You gain the following benefits:
- Improved Lunar Radiance. Wild Shape attacks do bonus Radiant damage.
- Shared Moonlight. Moonlight Step can also teleport 1 ally.

- Rule Tip: Temporary Hit Points Don't Stack. If you have temporary hit points and receive more of them, you don’t add them together, unless a rule says you can. Instead, you decide which temporary hit points to keep.
